BUSY MONTH!

We have sure had a busy month. We closed on our house on April 31 and then had two weeks to get the "popcorn" ceilings scraped, textured, painted, and the rest of the house painted also. Luke was working until about midnight every night, and is still. We did a lot on the weekends and then my friend watched Emma almost everyday and night for a week while I worked on the house all day. We got it all scrapped and had professionals come in and texture. We only had a few days left before we had to move in to to all of the painting. Luckily Jeff was here and he helped me all day and night. We really lucked out he was here during that time because we needed all the help we could get. We only had a few days to do the painting and there is no way we could have finished it all by ourselves. I expressed a little bit of stress to one of my friends and she called the Relief Society President and that night and for the next two days we had a crew of people helping us finish the painting. Our prayers were sure answered! We are so blessed to live in such an awesome ward. They would really do anything for us and we appreciate and love them all so much!

We got all the ceilings done and painted and all of the walls painted also, except for the bathrooms, before we moved in. It feels so good to have all of that done. We still need to paint the bathrooms and all of the trim, doors, and touch up where the ceiling and walls meet but that will be an on going process over the next couple of months. Our next big project for the summer will be to put crown molding throughout the house.

We have been moved in for almost two weeks now and are still working on getting un-packed. I have the kitchen and main rooms done but our room and office have quickly become the dumping grounds for all of the half empty boxes that still need to be unpacked. We are excited for when it is all put away and we can start decorating.

Emma loves living in a house have having so much space, as do we! We are lucky to have such a nice home and such great family and friends that have helped and supported us so much!

We are HOMEOWNERS!!

We are officially homeowners!! Yesterday morning we closed on our house. Luke has been working until midnight and we wanted to go to the house together for the first time so we went last night, or this morning, at about 1a.m. We got Emma out of bed and drove over there. We love the house even more now that all of the stuff is out of it. We went throughout the whole house and Emma loved it. We sat on a blanket int he middle of the living room drinking sparkling cider and eating chocolate covered strawberries.

Now we will start to scrape the "popcorn" ceilings and paint the entire house before we move in. We are hoping to have that done and moved in in 1-2 weeks. WE ARE SUPER EXCITED!! We hope you can all come and visit sometime. :)

This is us driving over to our house.

This is the first time we walked into our new house.

Happy Birthday Christine!

Luke brought me home 2 dozen red roses for my birthday! They are beautiful. He has a deadline for work coming up next week and he is working super long hours. He did not get home until 10:15pm the night of my birthday. His senior manager said they will be working until at least 11p.m. every night until the fund it done.

Walk for Babies (America)

We participated in the "Walk for Babies" event last Saturday and walked 5 miles with Emma and our friends, Joel and Melissa, and their two kids. It was a beautiful day and was a lot of fun!

BIG STORM!!

We had the biggest storm last night that I have ever witnessed! We woke up to what sounded like the whole city shutting down when our power went off last night at 3:45a.m. I looked out the window and yelled for Luke to come look. It honestly looked like we were in the middle of a tornado. I have never seen the wind blow so hard. The power was off until 4:30 p.m. today. I had to get some ice to put in a cooler to keep some things refrigerated. I was afraid everything was going to spoil. I gathered some pictures from the Internet of the damage, but it does not do it justice. I will try to take some pictures tomorrow and upload them. There are trees and signs ripped out of the ground, power lines down, stop lights bent in half, fences ripped up and blow everywhere, and large pieces of sheet metal from covered parking areas lying everywhere, etc. It is crazy!

Box Fort!

We made a big box fort for Emma to play in and she loved it!
