Sea World Summer Trip

For months now the kids have been saving all our spare change in the "Sea World Jar" for our much anticipated trip to San Antonio and Sea World.  We stayed in downtown San Antonio at the official hotel of the Alamo for two nights.  We did Sea World one day and then explored San Antonio including the Alamo, River Walk, and the famous Man vs. Food 3 lb. cinnamon roll.  We then traveled to West of Austin and stayed at the Lakeway resort for a night where we enjoyed lots of swimming! It was a lot of fun but boy is vacationing with little kids a lot of work!

The River Walk
These kids loved the little kiddie rides!
I love Emma's face in this picture!  It screams pure joy.
This is the family waiting for the 4D movie to start.  It was about a little boy who played tricks on pirates he was trying to scare away.  The bees and huge spider were a little too realistic for my kids and all three of them were screaming hysterically.  I had to take two of them out because it was too much.  I think we will go to the Sesame Street 4D movie next time.
The shark tank was awesome! They also had a dolphin open tank where you could feed the dolphins.  This was probably one of my favorite things about Sea World.  It was neat to see them so close up!
Dad is still a kid at heart.
The kids and Luke riding Journey to Atlantis.
This was the only "big" ride that Eli was tall enough to go on.  He loved it until it started to go down and he cried the entire way down, and then some.  Lesson learned,  don't let your three year old go on this ride, even if they are tall enough!  I am surprised Emma didn't have the same reaction but she loved it!
Since we were in San Antonio we had to try out the famous Man vs. Food 3lb. cinnamon roll!  It was huge and delicious!
While the kids were watching movies on our drive, Luke and I decided to see who could take the best profile picture.  He then secretly posted it on facebook.  Because it was the little things like this that made our vacation so much fun I had to share.  He conceded and gave me the award.  What a sweet husband!

Update on the Kids

Emma is a fun as ever and is learning how to read and loving school!  The teachers at school call her Fancy Nancy because she has such a large vocabulary.  Her teacher asks the kids what certain words mean thinking no one know and she says Emma always knows what the words mean.  She is such a free spirit and is always running, jumping, and crafting.
This little guy will be 3 in April!  Seems crazy.  He is really growing up and turning into a big boy!  He LOVES to help me cook and has to be in the kitchen with me at all times.
This picture cracks me up.  Eli in his Spiderman costume, which he has worn 95% of everyday since Halloween, Emma's very girly apron, and his green monster boots (not pictured).
Liam is such a happy baby!  He is 5 months old now and just giggles and laughs all the time.  We recently got out he "jungle jumparoo"  and he loves it!  He is just like Emma and jumps and jumps and jumps!
The boys and I have lots of fun while Emma is at school!

Ice Skating!

We took the kids ice skating a couple weeks ago and they loved it!  As you can see from the pictures taking an almost 3 and 5 year old ice skating for the first time is not easy.  Luke and I skated them around most of the time but they did get it, a little bit.  The ice skating area was pretty busy but I was just glad that there was no one there we knew.  The kids, Luke, and I were having a ball but I know we looked completely ridiculous!  Ice skating has always been such a dream of Emma's.  For a long time she said she wanted to be an ice skater when she grew up.  In her prayers that night she prayed that we could go ice skating again really soon.
This is when we first stepped on the ice.  The kids could not stay up!

Merry Christmas, a month ago!

Here is our December in review.  With having a baby and the Holidays I had to let somethings go and unfortunately the blog was one of them.  I needed to play catch up for my documentation purposes but hope to post more often now that life is back to a bit of normalcy around here.
Sweet Liam in front of the Christmas tree.  3 months old.
Here are my sisters kids with Emma and Eli on Christmas Eve.  I think the kids were singing Jingle Bells at the top of their lungs here.  This was the second year in a row my sister came from Wyoming to Dallas for Christmas.  We had so much fun!
 Doing Christmas crafts with Daddy.
Here are the kids on Christmas Eve watching a special video about Christ's birth.
Here is Eli and his cousin frosting cookies for Santa. Will was giving Eli a lick of his frosting.  So sweet.
Here is our gingerbread house form this year.  We have an annual get together and invite a couple friends to make gingerbread houses.  It is so much fun!
We had a beautiful Costco pre-lite Christmas tree.  However, at the beginning of December two of the sections of lights went out.  We took the tree back and after returning it learned that Costco was all out of the pre-lite Christmas trees!  Who runs out of Christmas trees at the beginning of December?!  Crazy.  Anyway, we decided to go with a real Christmas tree this year.  It was huge, beautiful, and smelt just like Christmas.  Amist the millions and millions of pine needles that were vacuumed up it was pretty great.
 Liam!
Here is Emma in her Christmas program.  She had been practicing the songs for months and was very secretive and sly about not letting me hear them!  This was Emma, and our, first real Christmas program.  Kids are so cute!
Visiting the Zoo in December is definitely on our list of why we love the Texas Winters!

Happy 30th Birthday Luke, Thanksgiving, and Family Pictures!

Happy 30th Birthday Luke!
We went to Houston to visit Luke's brother and family for Thanksgiving.
Here are the cousins enjoying the crazy warm Texas weather.

While we were there we had Luke's brother take our Family Pictures.  He is a great photographer!  Thanks Mark!

October in Review

For my own documentation purposes here is a review of last October in pictures!

Eli's orange cast!  He broke both bones in his arm and had to wear a cast for 8 weeks.
Liam's Blessing Day
This is the only family picture we got from Liam's blessing day.  Eli had broken his arm the day before and was so not in the mood for anything!  I would be sad not to have this picture because it is so typical of our day and our weekend.  Although it is not a great family picture it is a memory of how it was and I love it.
Our 2011 Halloween costumes.  Little red riding hood and the big bad wolf.
 Our Little Pumpkin
 Carving pumpkins!
 Spiderman
 Super Girl
 Our little hommie.
We had Luke's brother and family visit for the weekend.  Liam snuggling with Aunt Andrea.
 Cousins!
Here are the results from our pumpkin carvings.
Happy 5th birthday to my sweet Emma!  She got this visor at school and LOVED wearing it all the time.
Thank you to both Grandma's for coming to visit and help with the baby.  We LOVED having you here!
