I robbed the grocery store!

I spent $29.97 and saved $128.73
Saturday only, Kroger doubled coupons up to $1.00. (They normal double coupons up to 0.50 cents.) My coupon buddy Melissa and I went through all of our coupons and got all of the ones for 0.75 cents to $1.00. Then, we made a list of all those coupons, in the order they are in the store, and went and saw which items we could get free or super cheep. The key is to get items that are on SALE and that you have a COUPON for. For example, I had a coupon for yogurt for $1.00 and then Kroger doubled the coupon giving me another $1.00 off making it $2.00 off of yogurt that was on sale for $1.88 thus earning me 0.12 cents on that purchase. (by the way I had 4 yogurt coupons!) They paid us to take items! I have to say that we did a sweet job! We probably got 1/3 of our items completely free. My total at first was well over a hundred dollars which made me a little nervous. After the clerk scanned my 49 coupons the total was $39.97. For purchasing 10 Kellogg's/Keebler items I got a $10 mail in rebate. Which means the total for all of these groceries was only $29.97!!! Can you believe that! It is kind of hard to tell form the picture but I got a ton of stuff, lots of nice cleaning supplies, makeup, pizzas, deodorants, shampoo, gel, canned goods, toilet paper, crackers, dressings, sauces, pastas, cookies, snacks, etc. I completely robbed the grocery store!

Eli's Photo Shoot

We had some fun this evening and had a little photo shoot. Ain't he a doll! There is just something about naked babies that is so cute! Enjoy!

Of course Emma had to get in on the action. She insist I take her picture with the flowers also. However, getting her to smile normal is like pulling teeth!

Carmel Popcorn!

I LOVE this carmel popcorn and just have to share the recipe. You make it in the microwave and it is super fast and easy. I usually always have everything to make it so when I feel like something sweet this is what I make.

Easy Crunchy Carmel Popcorn in a Bag!

4 qts popped popcorn (2 bags of microwave popcorn)
1 cube margarine
¼ cup white Karo
½ cup brown sugar
¼ tsp baking soda

Put popped popcorn in a large brown paper sack. In a microwave safe bowl mix brown sugar, karo and margarine. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Stir and microwave another 2 minutes. Remove from microwave and stir in baking soda. Mixture will be foamy. Pour carmel over popped popcorn and stir around to coat. Fold over bag and microwave a minute and a half on high. Let cool and enjoy!

I can roll over!

Eli started rolling over last week and is now a rolling machine. He can only roll onto his tummy. The second he hits the ground he goes over. He kicks his legs and arms like he is trying to crawl, it is so cute. He is a doll. We just love having a baby!

4,666 Miles Later...

We got back from our road trip last week and had a blast! We went a total of 4,666 miles! The kids did great considering they had to ride in the car so much! We have tons of pictures and stories so I will try and just highlight some from the different stops we had.
#1 Grand Island, NE Family Reunion
First stop was Grand Island, NE for a Family Reunion on my mom's side. Everyone was able to be there which made it extra special. We saw one of the only running steam engine trains still running in the US as it came through. We went to a Water Park, Sturr Museum, and played outside the entire weekend.

#2 Mount Rushmore
We went to Mount Rushmore and some of the surrounding attractions. We went to the lighting ceremony at Mount Rushmore and it was SO SO neat! I would recommend every American go see it. They had a program, video, and then light the monument. It was great!
#3 Casper Wyoming, to visit my sister and her family
We stayed in Casper for a couple of days and had a great time! We went to Martin's Cove and got to go on a little handcart expedition. Luke pulled the handcart with the 5 kids in it! It was a neat experience to see, hear, and read about the history behind Martin's Cove.
#4 Florence, Mt, to visit Luke's parents
We spent the majority of our time in beautiful Montana at Luke's parents bed and breakfast. We went on bike rides, to the river, lake, farmers market, ate lots and lots of yummy food, and Emma even got to ride a minatiure horse. It was the ultimate vacation.

#5 Pocatello, Idaho, to visit my family We were able to spend some time with my mom, step dad, brother and grandparents in Idaho and it was great! We went to the zoo, played lots of cards, and ate yummy food.

#6 Boise, Idaho We went over to Twin falls to meet my best friend Kimberly and her hubby Zach and new baby Brenna. We had so much fun with them we drove back to Boise with them, where they live, to spend the night with them.

#7 Bountiful, Utah We stayed with Luke' Grandma for a couple of days before we headed back. It was nice to be able to spend that time together.

HOME... We had a wonderful road trip and are lucky we were able to see and spend time with our families. Looking forward the the next one!

My not so little little boy...

Eli went to his 2 month appointment this last week and weighed 13 pounds 6 ounces and measured 24 3/4 inches. He is in the 97% for his weight and his height was off of the chart! Basically it is like we have a 3 or 4 month old.

He is so stinking adorable and more and more fun each day!
